8 Lessons I've Learned this Past Year

1. Not caring about what other people think is the best thing in the world
Once I learned to not care about what others thought about me, I became a much happier person. As long as I’m satisfying myself it truly doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

2. Take as many naps as possible
Once you’re in the real world, you won’t be able to nap. As a college student, it is my duty to nap as much as possible now because in a few years I won’t be able to!

3. Getting ready in the morning makes for a productive day
Last year I would wake up ten minutes before class, throw on sweats and brush my teeth. This year, I find myself doing my makeup almost every day and trying to dress somewhat decent. I feel more productive throughout the day and I just feel better about myself in general.

4. Take a day to just relax
Life can be so stressful. Sometimes you just need that one day where you can lay in bed and watch Netflix while eating chocolate covered pretzels and cape cod chips (tell me I’m not the only one)

5. It’s amazing how happy you can be when you surround yourself with the right people
The friendships I have made this past school year are definitely life-long. I’ve never felt more comfortable and at home with a group of people. I love my friends and they only bring me higher rather than tear me down.

6. Procrastination will make you cry
Take my advice when I say do not procrastinate. You will regret it, trust me.

7. Tea is good for the soul
Drink it, every single day. More than once a day. It’ll make you feel better, I promise.

8. Don’t be afraid to rid yourself of poisonous people
There are so many people from my past that I don’t even associate myself with anymore. I was always afraid to lose people who I thought were my friends, but they weren’t. I’m so much happier now that I don’t have people bringing me down 24/7.

These are some of the life lessons i’ve learned in the past year. Not only that but I’ve learned a lot about myself as well.
