Favorite Reads of 2015

1. Breath, Eyes, Memory – Edwidge Danticat
breath

I read this novel for my literature class this semester and truly loved it. Everything about it. The way it was written, the story in general. It really opened my eyes to other cultures and just truly made me think. If you can, please read this. Edwidge Danticat is a genius.

2. November 9 – Colleen Hoover
nov 9

Ahhhhh November 9, how I love thee. My favorite author, Colleen Hoover, released this novel in November and omg was it amazing. I read it in one night because I’m obsessed with her novels and I cried a lot. The whole idea for the book is so amazing and she even incorporated Tate and Miles from her novel Ugly Love. Everything about this is perfect. I never expect anything less than perfect from her, though.

3. P.S. I Still Love You – Jenny Han
ps

Okay, I read the first book in this series in May of 2014 in four hours one night. Then, I found out that P.S. I Still Love You would be released in Spring 2015 and I freaked out. I had to wait a whole year? That was torture and too long. So I pre-ordered it and waited a year and as soon as it was released I started reading it. I went out to dinner that night with my family and read it while we were there. It was such a good chick-lit read and even though I hated waiting for it to be released (like really hated it) it was definitely worth the wait!

4. Moonglass – Jessi Kirby

Moonglass is another great chick-lit read that I really enjoyed! I would say its definitely a summer read because it takes place on the beach but if you hate winter (i love it) then it would be the perfect snowy day read for you! This is pretty different from anything else I’ve ever read and I really enjoyed it!

5. Yes Please – Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler is everything I aspire to be and more. She is perfect and I’m obsessed with her. This book was funny, serious, and just all around a great read this year. I especially love when she talked about her sons. Could she be anymore perfect? Nope. The only thing I need from her now is a whole book dedicated to working on Parks and Rec. Hey, Amy, you wanna make that happen? I’d really appreciate it!

6. I Hate Myselfie: A Collection of Essays – Shane Dawson

Shane is probably my favorite person on the internet. I love his YouTube videos and I think he is hilarious. So when he released this book I knew I needed to read it. Expecting a funny/lighthearted book, I was surprised to feel other emotions while reading stories from his life. There is more to Shane than meets the internet eye and I love that about him! I laughed, I even cried, and I cannot wait for his second book to come out! Shane is absolutely brilliant and if you haven’t read this yet, do it now!

7. Confess – Colleen Hoover

Another CoHo novel that took my breath away. Twist after twist leaves you desperate for more. I’m so glad this book exists. I couldn’t put this book down. I don’t want to spoil anything but wait until you get to the very end! SO GOOD.
